Christopher Martin

Praised as a "polished soloist" with "effortless, understated virtuosity,"Christopher Martin is currently Principal Trumpet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Martin came to the Atlanta Symphony after three years as Associate Principal Trumpet of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Christopher received his Bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music in 1997 under the instruction of trumpet professors Charles Geyer and Barbara Butler. As soloist, Christopher has performed concertos with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with Music Director Robert Spano and with the national champion Katsushika Wind Orchestra from Tokyo, Japan with conductor Yujiro Tsuda . Christopher has performed as Principal Trumpet with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, where he was offered the Principal Trumpet position, the Seattle Symphony and the Grand Teton Music Festival under Music Director Eiji Ouie. Mr. Martin is currently on the faculty of Emory University in Atlanta. Christopher Martin is featured on recordings with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on the Telarc label.
