Janice Wong, Pianist

Born in Taiwan in 1977, Janice Wong began her musical studies at an early age.
She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Peabody Music Conservatory studying under Boris Slutsky. She studied under William and Keiko Ransom of Emory University during her high school years, Andrzej Jasinski and Sergio Perticarloli as a scholarship student at the Internationale Sommerakademie Mozarteum, as well as Zalina Guercvich and Oleg Barsov.
Wong has won numerous awards and has been a finalist in several competitions. These awards and competitions include the Geoorgia Music Teachers’ Association, the Piano Literary Meet , the Atlanta Young Artist Competition, the Atlanta Jewish Artist Competition, and the Baldwin Company Competitions, and first prize winnder of the Pro-Mozart Scholarship Competition.
As a pianist Wong has performed in the United States, Europe, and Asia. In addition to her solo recitals, she has also performed in chamber recitals with many of the leading musicians of both Eastern and Western music in Taiwan and the United States. She has been a member of he piano faculty at Emory University since 2000.
