Well, we have just sent out our Winter Newsletter!! Lots of cool stuff about the new Fourm at Euphonium.com, the IEI Deadline for Pre-Registration discounts is Feb 29,new commissions, pieces, and also about a VERY exciting Consortium Commission Project. We are having Eric Ewazen, Ronland Szentpali, and 5 young composers write works and YOU can be a part of it. Please READ up on this and JOIN!! The more people that get involved will make it that much more succesful!
We had the premiere of William Brusick's Concertino for Euphonium at Georgia State University on March 12. It has been fun working with Bill and the premiere went VERY well. We are waiting on the concert recording and I am really excited about the work. My congrats to Bill on making it a great work and certainly know it will go over GREAT at ITEC this summer in the World Premiere of the Wind Band version with the ITEC Band on June 26.
We hosted Mark Jenkins, Euphonium with the US Marine Band, for a series of Master Classes and lessons at GSU and Emory University on Feb 25 and 26. You would think it was euphonium heaven here in Atlanta as we had a Master Class and lessons with Demondrae Thurman, University of Alabama, on Feb 5, a faculty recital on Feb 12, and now Mark Jenkins at the end of the month. Great guys, great playing, and great teaching all around!! Thanks again for traveling to Atlanta.
Thursday through Sunday (Feb 28-March 2), I will be at the Music for All (formerly Bands of America) Concert Festival in Indianapolis, IN. It will be great fun and playing as part of the extra brass on the final movement of Pines of Rome!!
Until next time,
Adam
