Korea, August 2000 - Performing the Boccalari Fantasia di Concerto with the Cheju Symphony Orchestra in the Winners Concert as a 1st Prize Winner in the Cheju Summer Band Festival International Brass Competition.

International Quartet (IQ)

August 2000, Korea - The International Quartet, aka IQ, is formed from a close group of friends that have participated in numerous international euphonium and tuba competitions. The members are (L-R) Rynusuke (Pepe) Abe, 3rd Prize Euphonium & 2nd Prize Trombone, David Zambon, 2nd Prize Tuba & Special Prize, Roland Szentpali, 1st Prize Tuba, and Adam Frey, 1st Prize Euphonium & voted "Best looking of IQ" by its members (honest)!!

August 2000, Korea - Unable to resist showing their entertaining sides, IQ had to try some more humorous photo shots in case they ever need photos for concerts!!

August 2000, Korea - IQ's premier performance at the Winners' Concert for the Cheju Band Festival International Brass Competition. Look for future performances (hopefully). Though it is difficult to rehearse as David and Pepe live France, Roland in Hungary, and Adam in the US, we hope to get together for some concerts in the future.

Enjoying a fine Korean Bar B Que feast with all the euphonium competitors. Many students from the studio of Japanese Euphoniumist, Toru Miura took part in the competition.

The participants of the Cheju Band Festival International Brass Competition enjoyed a fine reception with great food and drink. Chairman of the Jury, Armin Rosin, joined the competitiors in cutting the cake. Pictured are tuba, euphonium, and brass quintet prize winners.
