One of the best contemporary works in the repertoire, Lyric Suite should be a standard addition to many player's libraries.  Written in four movements, the first and third feature contemporary harmony and melody that spans some wide intervals.  The mood of these two is quite haunting and contrasts greatly with the more upbeat second and fourth movements.  These feature some challenging rhythms and remain light hearted throughout.
